Nantucket Wedding Photographer | Faraway Nantucket

Some weddings beautifully blend destination celebration, family tradition, and thoughtful design — and Charlotte and Jack’s intimate wedding at Faraway Nantucket was a perfect example. As a Nantucket wedding photographer, I focus on documenting weddings that feel both editorial and deeply personal across the island. With a heartfelt first look, portraits in the historic center of Nantucket, and a refined reception at Sister Ship restaurant, their day felt both elevated and deeply personal.

Though the couple now lives in London, Jack’s family ties to Nantucket made the island a meaningful place to gather their closest family and friends for a relaxed and elegant celebration.

An Intimate Nantucket Wedding Rooted in Family Tradition

Charlotte and Jack planned a small, intentional wedding focused on connection, experience, and place. With a guest list of close family and friends, the day felt welcoming and relaxed — more like an intimate gathering than a formal event.

I also photograph intimate Nantucket weddings across a variety of island venues and private estates. Some recent celebrations include coastal weddings in Monomoy and Sankaty, each offering a completely different perspective of the island.

For Jack, whose family has longstanding ties to Nantucket, returning to the island for such an important milestone carried special significance. The celebration reflected both the couple’s life in London and their connection to Nantucket’s timeless coastal charm. Getting Ready at the Federal Suite at Faraway Nantucket

The bridal party spent the morning getting ready in the Federal Suite at Faraway Nantucket, a beautifully designed space in the heart of the historic district. The suite’s light-filled interiors and refined details created a calm, elegant atmosphere to begin the day.

Charlotte prepared for the ceremony surrounded by her closest loved ones, with hair and makeup by Paolina Beauty and Darya Salon, who created a polished yet effortless look that complemented the sophisticated tone of the wedding.

She wore a stunning gown by Halfpenny London, a natural choice that reflected both her personal style and the couple’s connection to London.

The groom and his party got ready at a private family residence in Polpis, adding a personal and meaningful start to the day.

A First Look with the Bride’s Father

Before the ceremony, Charlotte shared a quiet first look with her father, one of the most emotional moments of the day. Away from the excitement of the celebration, they took time together to pause, embrace, and take in the significance of the moment.

These intimate exchanges create space for genuine connection and often become some of the most meaningful memories from a wedding day — a beautiful way to begin the celebration.

An Elegant Ceremony & Celebration at Faraway Nantucket

The wedding unfolded at Faraway Nantucket, one of the island’s most distinctive boutique hotel venues. Known for its thoughtfully designed spaces and central location, the property provided a seamless setting for both ceremony and celebration.

With its combination of historic Nantucket architecture and contemporary design, Faraway offered an ideal backdrop for an intimate luxury wedding that felt both stylish and welcoming.

Reception at Sister Ship Restaurant

Following the ceremony, guests gathered for a celebratory reception at Sister Ship, Faraway’s signature restaurant. The intimate dining experience created a warm, inviting atmosphere where guests could enjoy exceptional food, conversation, and meaningful connection.

Hosting the reception in a restaurant setting encouraged a relaxed flow to the evening while maintaining a refined, elevated experience — perfect for a smaller Nantucket wedding celebration.

Film Photography & Super 8 Wedding Film on Nantucket

In addition to digital coverage, Charlotte and Jack’s wedding was documented using both film photography and Super 8 motion film, adding a timeless and nostalgic dimension to their celebration. Film photography captures light, color, and texture with a soft, organic quality that beautifully complements Nantucket’s historic architecture and coastal atmosphere.

Super 8 wedding film preserves the movement and emotion of the day with natural grain and cinematic motion, creating a result reminiscent of treasured family home movies. Together, film and Super 8 offer an elevated, heirloom-quality approach to documenting a wedding — preserving both the beauty and feeling of the celebration for generations.
